Yuck...

I've forgotten how awful it is to detox from sugar.  Crushing fatigue, pounding headache, tunnel vision, and diarrhea.  If I hadn't gone through it before I'd think I was dying!  Just goes to show you how awful that stuff must be for you.

Since I'm here, I'll tell you that I choked down the most disgusting salad in the world today for lunch.  It was raw spinach, steamed broccoli, and some black beans...doesn't that just sound gross?  I meant to put salmon in until I realized we didn't have any, so I figured the beans would be a good substitute.  They're not...this I now know.  Oh, and no salad dressing - thought the beans would make it okay without it - which made it extra-hard to consume.  But on the bright side, it was 4 servings of vegetables.

I'm not sure that makes me feel any better.  ;)

By the way, I got on the scale this morning.  Couldn't help it.  I'm down 4 pounds from yesterday morning.  Obviously "water weight", but I still feel victorious!

Hey, 4 pounds is good no matter how you get it, right? Bask in the glory you deserve!

Hmmm how could we improve your salad today? All of our tastes are different, but if it were my salad, I'd start by having the broccoli be uncooked as opposed to steamed. I'd throw in some onion, cherry tomatoes, bacon bits (a little goes a long way, so no worries on calories), a bit of olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and red wine vinegar.

Gotta adorn the disgusting, healthy foods up a bit, otherwise you'll dread eating them! Personally, I hate eating food that sucks!

It's crazy how weight fluctuates. One night I weighed myself, and then again in the morning, and it had gone down like 4 or 5 lbs

I know! I had to back off from weighing myself because I kept jumping on the scale to see what i weighed about every 2 hours......now I weigh once a week, and I'm not so obsessed. After being a "normal" weight for most of my adult life, I find myself having to lose about 30 lbs, and it's sooooo hard!! I just let go, and ate whatever I wanted, and I'm sure paying the price. At 57 years old I'm finding it sure doesn't come off easy, or quickly, even with lots of exercise.Well, I will still try, even though I feel defeated at times!
Your salad does sound kinda yucky! Lately I have been adding shrimp or crab, and hard boiled eggs to my salads, it just makes me feel like I'm eating something decadent.

Randy, now THAT sounds like a salad! :)

Girls, isn't it frustrating? Gosh...who knew the scale could be our best friend or our worst enemy.

Good luck to all three of you...we're in this together!

I'm with Randy on making the salad taste better. If you have to choke it down - well then, that's just silly.

Remember the old cliche that this is a "lifestyle change" and you KNOW you don't intend to eat THAT salad on a regular basis for the rest of you life - so don't bother with it now.

After nearly 100 pounds - and about 30-40 more to go... I've learned that I can't give up things I love (as long as they are not triggers for me to devour the entire pantry) if you are going to do this for the long haul.

I eat peanut butter everyday. And sadly, it's not organic or natural or minimally processed like most everything else I eat - it's good 'ol Jif. WHY - because I love it, and I intend to eat it forever.

That's my chosen lifestyle - so I eat it now, and sure the scale might go down a little faster if it didn't make up over 1/2 the fat intake in my day, every day - but it's better than not eating it, being sad that I don't have it, and then putting 20 pounds back on when I get to my goal weight and decide to eat it again.
